TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands will hold a public meeting on March 3, 2026 at 7:00 pm at the Municipal Office, 14 Water Street East, Little Current. The purpose of this public meeting is to consider a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act for the property located on Shaftesbury Town Plot 2, Lots 32-33 NS Meredith Street, RP 31R1311 Parts 7-9-10, 44 Meredith Street, Town of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands. The attached key map shows the affected property.

 

The effect of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment special exception C2-14  will amend the required interior setbacks from 5m to 1.34 and 5m to 1.60 zoning to accommodate the existing building structure and placement. 

 

ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of, or in opposition to, the proposed By-law Amendment.

 

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Northeastern Manitoulin & the Islands before the proposed By-law Amendment is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Town of Northeastern Manitoulin & the Islands to the Ontario Land Tribunal.  

 

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Town of Northeastern Manitoulin & the Islands before the proposed By-law Amendment is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to do so.

 

An explanation of the purpose and effect of the proposed By-law Amendment, describing the affected property, a Key Map showing the location of the affected property to which the proposed By-law Amendment applies, and a copy of the complete proposed By-law Amendment is available for inspection during regular office hours at the Municipal Office, 14 Water Street East, Little Current.

ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT NO. 2018-41

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands passed By‑law No. 2026-17 on2026-03-03, under Section 34 of the Planning Act.

 

The effect of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is to allow the affected property by Site Specific to reduce the minimum required side yards from 5m to 1.34m and 1.60m.

 

AND TAKE NOTICE that the last date for filing a notice of appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal, by filing with the Clerk of the Corporation of the Town of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands, is not later than 2026-03-24 at 4:00 p.m. The filing of an appeal after 4:00 p.m., in-person or electronically, will be deemed to have been received the next business day.

 

The notice of appeal must set out the reasons for the appeal and include the prescribed appeal fee payable to the Minister of Finance, Province of Ontario.

 

Only the applicant, the Minister, a specified person or any public body as prescribed in the Planning Act, may, not later than the date and time noted above, appeal the decision to the Tribunal. No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the decision was made, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the council or, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.

The purpose of this public meeting is to consider a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act for the property located on Concession 13, Lot 19, 31R44124 Part 3 and 4

 12030 Hwy 6 Town of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands. The attached key map shows the affected property.

 

The effect of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment special exception C3-7 will amend the zoning from Commercial Tourism to Shoreline Residential on a newly created building lot . This application is running concurrently with a consent application for the creation of a building lot and an easement.

The effect of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is to rezone the affected property from the Commercial Tourism  Zone to the Shoreline Residential  Zone in order to permit residential uses.
