Effective 6:00 p.m. tonight, Friday, August 18, 2023 the Municipal Fire Ban in NEMI will be lifted.
Please continue to exercise caution with campfires.
We thank you for your cooperation, patience and understanding.
The Town of NEMI has a Volunteer Fire Department that is responsible for fire protection within our municipality.
As per By-Law 2016-14- Open Air Burning, you are required to obtain an Open Air Burning Permit for all fires larger than 6'x6' in size. This permit is free of charge and can be obtained at the Municipal Office, located at 14 Water Street East in Little Current or by clicking here. Once you have completed the application, please return it to the Municipal Office for approval by the Fire Chief.
We have two Fire Hall locations located in both Little Current and Sheguiandah.
