Municipal Parks & Scenic Lookouts


There are a number of wonderful park spaces and lookouts for our community to utilize and enjoy!

Low Island Park

Low Island Park is located at 66 Water Street West in Little Current. This park has lots to offer for everyone including:

  • Splash Pad
  • Playground Area
  • Beach Area and Swim Dock
  • Two Baseball Fields
  • Soccer Field
  • Skateboard Park and Pump Track
  • Washrooms/Change Rooms
  • Badminton Nets
  • Outdoor Exercise Equipment
  • Connects to Linear Waterfront Walking Trail

Turner ParkTurner Park is located at 34 Campbell Street East in Little Current . A favorite place of locals and visitors to stop for a picnic lunch. Take the staircase to downtown Little Current connect with our waterfront trail. Turner Park offers a great view of the Swing Bridge and the downtown core and waterfront area.

Cenotaph ParkLocated downtown Little Current beside our Municipal Office and along the waterfront of the beautiful North Channel. The Cenotaph monument and band shell was erected in 1922. You can access the downtown core as well as the waterfront and downtown docks from this park area.

Information Booth ParkThe park area located at the Manitoulin Welcome Centre (MTA/Info Booth) serves as a pretty stop either entering or exiting Manitoulin Island from the Swing Bridge. The park joins up to the Linear Waterfront Trail, connecting the bridge area to downtown Little Current. If you follow the trail down to the water, you can also capture a great photo or selfie with the bridge as your backdrop.

Lions Park

The Lions park is located at the NEMI Public Library at 50 Meredith Street West in Little Current. This playground is a popular destination for children and their families. Stop in for a play while visiting the Library.

Centennial Museum ParkThe Museum Park is located on the lower level of the Centennial Museum of Sheguiandah, just off of Limit Street and features a playground area for children, washrooms, a gazebo and boccee ball courts. A great place to stop by for a picnic lunch! While your there, make sure to visit the Museum on the upper level. 


Sheguiandah Government Dock
The Sheguiandah Government Dock area not only features a boat launch area, but also has a pretty little gazebo, boardwalk, washrooms as well as it is home to the "Big Blue Chair"- a great family photo opportunity.

McLean's Mountain Look-Out
McLean's Mountain Lookout is located at the top of the hill on McLean's Mountain Road, approximately 5 minutes outside of Little Current off of Highway 540. McLean's Mountain Lookout provides a view like no other of the North Channel.

Strawberry LookoutStrawberry lookout is located just off of Highway 6, across from Green Bush Road. This pretty little lookout is an ideal spot to stretch your legs, take in the breathtaking views of the Strawberry Channel or capture the perfect selfie!

Ten Mile Point Lookout
Ten Mile Point lookout located five minutes outside of Sheguiandah, south on Highway 6 offers a view like no other! While you are there, take a photo, enjoy the rest area or visit the Ten Mile Point Gift Shop for some Manitoulin Island souvenirs. *Please note this seasonal-rest area is provincially maintained.*
